Ages 4-8

All children love stories and these wonderful saint stories are no exception. They put children in touch with the key events in the saint’s life, but also with the Church’s liturgical year. Using symbols and seasons to great advantage, the author creates beautiful and meaningful moments for sharing these stories.

She not only offers stories of saints of long ago, but also a variety of creative ways to get to know and celebrate them. These will be fun for children, of course, but they also offer spiritual values that they can apply now as well as later in their lives. She believes that celebrating the saints gives children at least two experiences they rarely encounter, both vital to a healthy spirituality: taking time for reflection and learning the language of symbols.

And so, while these stories are enjoyable and active, they also offer time for reflection on the qualities and spiritual gifts that each saint possessed.
