A little challenge for January–no diet necessary

January 17, 2019

My challenge doesn’t have anything to do with weigh loss or commitments to exercise!

I am always astounded by the vast variety of saints and what they are connected to as patrons. There is a saint for just about everything! So the challenge for a January day is a little game to get you thinking about the diversity of saints and their claims to fame or causes. Here is a list that describe just some of the saints whose feast days are in January:

  1. Assistant to St. Jerome
  2. Patron against earaches
  3. Doctor of the Church, patron of Catholic scholars, theologians and booksellers
  4. Patron of US Army Chaplain Corps
  5. Patron of Catholic Writers and Catholic Press
  6. Patron of Orators
  7. Patron against stomach disorders
  8. Founder of the Ursulines

Below is the list of their names. Have fun matching them!

A.Francis de Sales

B. Timothy

C. Polycarp

D.Titus

E. Paula

F. Angela Merici

G. John Chrysostom

H. Thomas Aquinas

And here are the answers:

A=5

B= 7

C= 2

D= 4

E= 1

F= 8

G= 6

H=3

How well did you rise to this challenge?
